High Throughput Screening (HTS) is a widely applied approach to find starting points for the development of new medicines. It requires the availability of

  1. A library of “drug-like” molecules that could potentially be developed into real drugs
  2. A biological assay that measures the interaction between those molecules and the protein/pathway that plays a role in the disease that is investigated
  3. Advanced robotics and data-processing tools to screen large compound libraries efficiently.

We have the assets and expertise to develop assays for HTS and to screen 100,000’s –to 1,000,000’s  of compounds efficiently. The resulting hits are retested to confirm activity and are further profiled using so-called deselection and orthogonal assays to ensure that the final hits have desired properties and interact with the biological system of interest.
